Frequently Asked Questions

I've never heard of MFR. How is it different from massage?

Massage involves a constant movement of hands on the body with lotion providing a glide on the skin, which is meant to reduce stress and tension in the body and bring relief to the muscles.

Myofascial Release is different because it is done without lotion and involves sustained pressure on targeted areas of connective tissue (fascia) that surround your muscles and bones. This pressure is meant to release the restriction in the connective tissue so that you have greater range of motion and less pain.

If you have muscle soreness from working out and/or from sitting at a desk, a massage could give you the tension release you need to get rid of the knots and feel better. But if you notice persistent pain that doesn't go away even after trying other interventions, MFR could be what you need.

What makes one person have fascial restrictions while others don't?

Everyone has experienced some sort of trauma in their life. Every body has fascial restrictions, but everyone has a different ability to detect, tolerate, and respond to pain. Stress is also linked to pain so the level of stress in someone's life also contributes to how they feel in their body.

Do you accept checks or cash?

At this time we do not accept cash or checks. All payment must be submitted prior to your appointment.

Do you offer gift cards?

Due to the nature of our services, it's important to us to be able to talk with each client prior to their session to be sure MFR is right for their needs. We currently do not offer gift cards for this reason.

This is a hands-on technique, how do you stay safe during COVID?

Our team is always meticulous about safety and hygiene procedures. With the current state of the world, we are upping our standards to ensure each session is as safe as possible. We ask that all clients wear a mask to protect themselves and our team. You may not be able to see our smiling faces but know that underneath our mask we're thrilled to be helping you live a pain-free life.
